When Natalie, of Natalie Pitts Photography came to us with and existing brand identity that she was happy with, but just needed a few additional pieces that would help carry the theme through we were happy to help. Natalie had a very crafty brand personality, using Kraft paper DVD holder and wrapping each one with ribbon a small button, she loved this look but knew the busier she got the less practical the small button and ribbon details would become. So we had a challenge to face – we (she) wanted to keep the brand personality as it was but needed a more economical and time saving approach. We brought up the idea of a Kraft paper business card – pre-printed with all of her information so there would be no assembly needed, and a bright yellow sticker with a crafty design to go on each Kraft DVD case – so we weren’t sacrificing any of the homemade feeling of this brand, but we were making Natalie’s life a little easier 😉 Here is a look at the stickers that go on each DVD case:

What is the name of your business? Natalie Pitts Photography

How long have you been in business? A little over a year What do you do? Weddings, seniors, engagements, bridals, maternity, etc. Why did you start your business? I have loved photography ever since I took it as an elective in high school. I began to love it more while being a part of the yearbook staff for the next 2 years. But it wasn’t until in college when I realized it was what I wanted to do as my career. I started out very part time. I was doing super cheap (almost free) sessions for close friends and family and then it gradually grew from there into something bigger. I eventually quit my job at the time and decided to make my photography business full time. I am so blessed to be able to do something I love so much all the time and get paid for it! What is unique about your business? I care so much about making the customer happy! It is important for them to enjoy the whole experience from the moment they contact me to the time they receive their pictures. I like to get to know the person I am shooting so that I can have a better I idea of what they want for their photos. For weddings, I like to put myself in their shoes and ask myself, “What would I want pictures of if I were them?” What is the process like to work with you? I am very open to new ideas and I like to make the photo shoot reflect the personality of the client. We discuss location, times, props, etc. Once the session is officially booked, I send out a confirmation email a few days before the shoot. During the shoot, I do my best to make the client feel comfortable and relaxed. It is important that the client doesn’t feel rushed but can really enjoy getting their pictures taken. After the editing process, I mail the client a CD of the edited images and also email them an online gallery to purchase prints and for them to share with friends and family. Why did you decide to work with Doodle Dog? I’ve seen much of their work and have loved everything they do! A few friends of mine have used them and had nothing but great things to say about their company. They do really well at creating something unique for each individual client. Tell us about your family. I have an older sister and an older half brother. My brother is a fireman in Austin and my sister is a special education math teacher. We have become so much closer over the past few years and it is so fun to have a sister that is like your best friend. My mom and dad are such wonderful parents. They love their kids so much and would do anything for them. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and I admire her so much for her strength and positive attitude. I am so grateful to be blessed with such a great family. Do you have any pets? What are their names? I have a beautiful red Golden Retriever named Maggie. She is precious and spoiled! I couldn’t imagine my life without her! Where do you like to shop? Gosh, I like so many different types of places! Some of my favorites are Nordstroms, GAP, Target, Francescas, Ann Taylor Loft, and FOSSIL. Describe yourself and your style. I consider myself an adventurous person. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to travel. I like to get out of the routine of life and experience cultures that are different than what I’m used to. I am very laid back and very organized. This past year, I have become more social (thanks to my business) but I enjoy having moments to myself with peace and quiet. As for my style of clothing – I like the plain stuff (solid undershirt with solid cardigan) with jeans, then make it fun with a colorful scarf and/or jewelry. I don’t try to keep up with the latest fashion. I just wear what I like and what looks good on me. Where do you find inspiration? Believe it or not, I find a lot of my inspiration from other photographer friends that are basically on the same level as me. It is fun to watch them grow in their photography businesses and observe what they do to make their own businesses better. We have photographer get-togethers often and it is awesome because we are there to learn and encourage each other. We share information with one another and give advice on random photog things! It is so helpful and so fun! A Day in the life of you consist of: Well, I feel like every day of my life is totally different! But I would describe the PERFECT work day to be – Waking up and working out at LA Fitness. Then enjoy a tasty Acai Topper from Jamba Juice and go to a nearby Starbucks to edit and blog for a few hours. In the afternoon I would meet my client for a photo shoot at a super cool location.
