If you haven’t heard of Roxy B, owner of The Good Life, and you are at all health conscious you should really get to know her. She is one of those people who never stops smiling and is just ready for whatever the next day has to offer. She came to Doodle Dog a couple months back in search of the perfect logo and brand elements to define her booming fitness and healthy living business. One thing that she was sure about is that she didn’t want people to just think of her as another personal trainer. So the first thing we started with was actually a name change – her original name was “Fitness by Roxy B.” which just didn’t define what she was doing for people, so we worked together and brainstormed and came up with The Good Life.
Here is a look at the BEFORE logo (seems to reflect a personal trainer’s logo)…
and a look at the NEW logo…
The new logo helps define her and her business a bit better – the soft muted colors show off her sweet personality and the different graphics show off that she (and the company) are about more than just working out – it’s about an all around healthy life style.
Once we completed work on the new logo we started in on her new business cards and letterhead. Take a look at what we came up with…
We asked Roxy a few questions, so take a second and get to know her better…
• What is the name of your business?
The Good Life {by roxyB}
• How long have you been in business?
I’ve been in the industry for 6 years, but just launched my business in late 2010. It started as “Fitness by RoxyB”, but with Doodle Dog’s help, “The Good Life by RoxyB” was born! LOVE
• What do you do? (Short summary describing your business)
The Good Life is a basically a virtual health & fitness partner available to everyone! We offer both virtual {personal training, workout design, workout calendars, nutrition consultations, accountability services} and in-person services {personal training, fitness testing, bootcamps, workshops}!
• Why did you start your business?
When I had my first little munchkin in 2009, my fitness career was put on hold. Taking care of my family is my number one role in life, but the passion and excitement I have for equipping people to be fitter, healthier, and happier is undeniable! The Good Life is the medium through which I can share my passion & gifts with the world!
• What is unique about your business? (Why would someone want to use your services)The Good Life takes a highly customized approach to health and fitness. We assess your lifestyle, your desires, your schedule, your habits, and work from there to figure out the most effective and enjoyable way to make a health & fitness a priority! Accountability is an intrinsic part of our system. And, our virtual accessibility make our services available to everyone anywhere, @ any time!
• What is the process like to work with you?
We begin by gathering LOTS of info about the client’s lifestyle, habits, & goals. We then design a program that compliments the client, fits with their schedule & style, but challenges their weaknesses! We provide the entire package of info/instructions up front and then communicate through email A LOT. We usually include a skype session or two (or face-to-face!) to deal with fitness testing, workout walk-thrus, and exercise form questions! There are accountability emails along the way, and if clients falls off the wagon, we’re there to pick them back up and give the little push they need!
• Why did you decide to work with Doodle Dog?
Doodle Dog came HIGHLY recommended by literally every single business owner I asked. I checked out the portfolio, was a big fan of the different looks Doodle Dog had created for previous clients, and then was super hooked after my initial meeting with Nikki…she was so zoned into my vision.
About You:
• Tell us about your family.
I’ve been married to my husband, Brian, for 4.5 years. He is super supportive, witty, smart, loving, & hilarious! We have 2 little munchkins- Avery {2} and Cameron {1}. Our house full of girls is usually doing something relating to Mickey Mouse, coloring, “playing” at the gym, or playing outside. The Lord blesses me in countless ways through my little fam!
• Do you have any pets? What are their names?
We have a 4 year old Boxer named Kerbey who will be 5 on Sep.22! She was our first baby Avery has a puppy named “puppy”. Although he’s stuffed, to her, he’s as real as it gets!
• Where do you like to shop?
Honestly, I’m not a big shopper, but my faves for workout gear are: Target, Academy, & Amazon. And…for everything else: Urban Outfitters, Forever 21
• Describe yourself and your style.
I’m laid-back, innately encouraging, and I have an optimistic view of people and of life! I think I’m a bit of a hippy deep down in my core I love everything that represents a natural & easy-going lifestyle. My happiest times are when I’m outside, when I’m reading an auto-biography, when I’m having an honest conversation with someone, or when I’m doing something active! I’m energized by people and by creation. Oh, and I have a major shoe fetish…but not the typical female kind. If I had endless funds, I’d buy a new pair of running shoes or cross trainers EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.
• Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration in all things UNPROCESSED. This world that God created literally inspires me everyday. The trees, the breeze, flowers, the heat of the sun… they all give me energy and excitement to live the very best life I possibly can. I think this is totally where my passion for what I do stems from! I also find inspiration in people. As I mentioned before, when I meet someone, I tend to focus on the better parts of them, and it makes me excited to see them bring those strengths and gifts out and use them to do good! Creating a healthy lifestyle fosters a thriving environment for these gifts & strengths to lead to success in all aspects of life!
