A few years ago while planning my own wedding, I knew I wanted to use rose petals for the ceremony. But after years of going to weddings and seeing fresh rose petals that had wilted before the end of the night, I knew it was a risk and an expense I wasn’t sure I wanted to take on. So after many hours of internet research, I came across freeze dried rose petals! I was a little skeptical at first, because honestly, how pretty can freeze dried rose petals really be? Luckily, I found a company called Petal Garden (http://www.petalgarden.com), they offer over 84 petal color options, so chances are, you’ll be able to find the color you are looking for! They also offer free samples of up to 10 different colors, that way you can see the product and make sure it’s right for you and your event. For my own wedding I went with white and burgundy, and the moment I received my free sample, I knew I would be going in the direction of freeze dried rose petals! After receiving my order a month before the wedding, and sitting in a box up until a few hours before the ceremony, they still looked exactly like they did when I ordered them.
Here are a few shots of the petals in action, I honestly couldn’t have been happier! And just to give you an idea of how wonderful these petals are. After the ceremony, a few friends of ours went out and scooped up as many of the petals as they could. Two weeks later they used them on the tables at their own wedding, and they looked exactly the same as they did at my mine! – Mallory, May 2010

After hearing Mallory go on and on (and on….) about the freeze dried petals, I figured I had no option but to try to order them for my wedding as well, since she was a bridesmaid in my wedding, and I have to say….she was 100% correct! The petals were a beautiful addition to the outdoor wedding and I would recommend them to any bride who is looking for an affordable and long-lasting option!
