So this big event happened back in June, so i’m a little late in getting it on the blog – but didn’t want to miss sharing our son’s first birthday invite, design, and party with all of you. We had been using a hashtag for Colton since he was born (@nikkinuck and #littlecoltnuckols) so we thought it was only right to incorporate that into the RSVP for the invitation and into the party itself. More on the Invitation suite on Etsy, here.
We put signs and fun theme related project everywhere, from this sign at the entry (so that guests could either pick up a cowboy hat to wear or a headdress, to the wanted signs that you could hold in front of your face, and more, everything fit the theme.
It was Colton’s very first experience with sweets of any kind – and I think he would have eaten the whole thing if we wouldn’t have taken it away eventually.
The “quick draw” basket was full of squirt guns for everyone to play with, and the “Year in Review” poster that we did was a big hit. We included all of the major milestones from Colton’s first year here, and it was fun for everyone to go back and look at. (Get a Year in Review on Etsy, here).
We couldn’t ask for better sports, these two (mostly the one on the right), basically put up with me dressing them up whenever I feel like it – so they let me snap a pic before the party! All in all it was a great party, with memories that will last a lifetime!
We were happy to create the invitation for the second year in a row for the Lewisville Western Days Festival! We concentrated on creating a rustic style with a whole lot of character. Here’s a look…
Check out the wood grain design in the background of the invite!
As Thursday Therapy gatherings bring wedding professionals together across the nation, hosting packets and invitations are being assembled to invite more locations to join the party. Doodle Dog has been working closely with Kelly Simants of Sweet Pea Events (and Sage Wedding Pros) and Michelle Loretta of Sage Wedding Pros to compile a Thursday Therapy branding package for each city group.
Besides the Thursday Therapy website (that we showed you back in June), these are the first branding pieces to showcase the TT graphic identity, with a teal dot pattern, sleek silvery grey, and burgundy. Business cards (or as we call them call-to-action cards), a Host Invitation, Hosting Guide, welcome signs, and event station decor are among the print pieces rolling out of Dallas to Thursday Therapy Austin, New York, Chicago, and Las Vegas. The invitation is bound with a silver ring, and swivels open into a five pages divulging the benefits of becoming a TT host in your city, and closes with the opportunity to “partner with Sage Wedding Pros” as a national host.
The guidebook teaches a new host the tricks of the Thursday Therapy trade and explains more about the TT culture, tips to Spice Things Up at a group gathering, Promote TT, and to Connect with Guests. It is the encyclopedia of Thursday Therapy for the new host…
With the guidebook, comes the offer of additional event branding materials, such as business cards that invite your guests to “Get on the invite list,” welcome signs, take home call-to-action cards, and Mix, Mingle, and Share station signs.

I have had so much fun working with this bride. It all started a few months back when I created her invitation suite for her. Next up, she requested the “signature” Doodle Dog tag that she could use on her favors that she will be handing out at the wedding.
Lastly, we created her programs and a few other finishing touches like a guest book sign and some reserved signs.
They picked the best music for their ceremony!
Congrats to Shauna and Trey, it was a pleasure working with you and I wish you all the luck on your big day September 25, 2010!
