Happy 28th Birthday Doodle Dog!

OK. you’re right we’re not actually 28 unless were talking dog years (haha). So we’re actually 4 years old today and it’s been a crazy, fun-filled 4 years! For those of you who don’t know it all started back in college when a friend’s company needed some work done and I took on the job as freelance (on top of my job at an ad agency). After the freelance started it really never stopped and after I had a few clients I decided i should probably put together a business name, get some cards and probably put up a website, and as they say the rest was history. I worked a full time job and kept up the freelance gigs on the side for about 2 years, at which point Doodle Dog became the full time gig. In the last 2 years Doodle Dog has enjoyed the opportunity to work with over a 100 clients around the nation and we’ve loved every single minute of it. So thank you all for following us along the way, helping us grow and being our biggest fans! And of course, thank you to Laura (my right hand woman) for all of her hard work over the last year !

Branding Pieces for Thursday Therapy

As Thursday Therapy gatherings bring wedding professionals together across the nation, hosting packets and invitations are being assembled to invite more locations to join the party. Doodle Dog has been working closely with Kelly Simants of Sweet Pea Events (and Sage Wedding Pros) and Michelle Loretta of Sage Wedding Pros to compile a Thursday Therapy branding package for each city group. Besides the Thursday Therapy website (that we showed you back in June), these are the first branding pieces to showcase the TT graphic identity, with a teal dot pattern, sleek silvery grey, and burgundy. Business cards (or as we call them call-to-action cards), a Host Invitation, Hosting Guide, welcome signs, and event station decor are among the print pieces rolling out of Dallas to Thursday Therapy Austin, New York, Chicago, and Las Vegas. The invitation is bound with a silver ring, and swivels open into a five pages divulging the benefits of becoming a TT host in your city, and closes with the opportunity to “partner with Sage Wedding Pros” as a national host.

I AM here to make friends and do my best to share the love. Why did you start your business? It is what I love and have always loved. Capturing moments. When life finally presented me with the real opportunity to make it my profession, I took that chance. What is unique about your business? My business has 2 unique qualities. I LOVE digital files and they are the focus of what I give my clients. I take your digital files and make them awesome. Secondly, but I think MOST important is that starting this year I am giving away a session to a family in need for every regular session purchased. Get a session, Give a session. Share the love. =) What is the process like to work with you? Imagine you have a little sister who talks your ear off and will do anything to make you laugh. Now imagine that she wants to take you on an adventure and photograph the whole thing. That’s pretty much what its like with me. I love my clients and I want them to know it. Why did you decide to work with Doodle Dog? Nikki is awesome! She understood what I was looking for in my new design and was really helpful with ideas. She really got to know my style and how to make it stand out. She’s a wonderful designer and person! Tell us about your family. I have a wonderful husband and a brand new (2 months) little boy. He is sweet and precious and silly and probably about to wake up right now so I’d better hurry. Do you have any pets? Just that darn cat, Bonsai. He was a rescue kitty. I got him at 4 weeks and he just turned 7. He is a perpetual kitten, and is in serious need of attention these days. Where do you like to shop? Ha. Everywhere. The interweb in general. Etsy. SOBO in Fort Worth, Target, you name it, I’ll shop there. =) Describe yourself and your style: I am laid back and love spending time with my friends and family and just enjoying their company. I like pretty and fancy things but I love my jeans and t-shirts. I’m always up for an adventure though and can’t wait to get back into running crazy events. Where do you find inspiration? My clients! They are the best inspiration. I love getting to know them and learning about what they love and turning that into an amazing experience and saving those memories for them. My other inspiration would honestly be nature and the way that light affects how we see the world. I love me a golden sunset! A Day in the Life of Karyn Consists of: My current daily “schedule”…. Wake up sometime between 2am and 4am and feed the Dude, go back to sleep if we’re lucky. Wake up for real between 6am and 8am. Feed, play, change diapers, put him down for a nap. Repeat. And occasionally in between there I photograph, edit, eat, sleep, shower and clean. Not necessarily in that order. It’s a simple life right now, but we love it.
