We specialize in planning and designing weddings and social events. We create memorable, one-of-a-kind events for clients and their guests to enjoy; events that are talked about long after they have taken place. A new service we’ve added for the guys is marriage proposal planning, where we help them organize and deliver a wonderful setup for a beautiful proposal.
Why did you start your business?
Many brides dream big and have a great vision for their wedding, but just don’t feel that their dream can become real – they don’t see any realistic way to make it happen. Having a talent and passion for designing events and an entrepreneurial spirit, I started Davis Detail & Design to provide solutions that show them that it can, and that there is someone who can handle/organize all of the details of the wedding so that they do not have to stress out and can actually enjoy their day!
What is unique about your business?
My ability to connect with clients. In order to create your event and make it represent who you are, there has to be a connection between us. Establishing a great connection allows me to ask the right questions to understand the essence of who you are and helps me pull out the vision you have for your event, some of which can’t be articulated but rather is understood. Clients are also often amazed at my ability to remain calm when chaos is going on. J Lastly, I’d like to point out that Davis Detail & Design does not accept any commissions/kickbacks from vendors in exchange for referrals. Brides, it’s YOUR wedding day and YOUR vision – be assured that the vendors we refer you to are ones whom we honestly believe will be the best match for your personality and the vision/style of your wedding!
What is the process like to work with you?
Working with us is fun, creative and organized! After all, we want you to enjoy planning your wedding, right? First, we set up an initial meeting with you. During the meeting, I’ll learn more about you and the groom and get a sense of your overall vision for your wedding day. If we decide that we are a good fit, we proceed with the signing of the contract and payment of retainer. Then, we get down to business! We dive in deeper with the vision of the wedding and work closely together until the big day arrives.
Why did you decide to work with Doodle Dog?
I wanted a unique website with my voice, something that really represented my brand and spoke to my clientele. I tend to have a “come hard or go home” mentality, so I knew I needed to hire a graphic designer. I came across a website/branding that Nikki had done for another local planner while browsing the internet and decided to check her out. Her work was very impressive so I reached out to her for a consultation. After our phone conversation, we connected and I knew that she would be great to work with. She has a great way of connecting with people, and knows how to deliver just what the client wants. She’s very versatile, and doesn’t get locked into to one style for all of her clients. It’s been a great experience working with her!

Some of my favorite places to shop are Banana Republic, Nordstrom and Target.
Where do you find inspiration?
One major outlet of inspiration for me is through music. I absolutely love music. It tells stories, it speaks to our variety of moods, it gives us energy, it helps us through difficult situations, shows our love, allows us to give praise. When I hear songs, I often times design my own music video in my head…lol I also find inspiration from my clients, fashion, color, other colleagues….inspiration is all around! J
