Go Bananas Themed Kids Birthday Party
When you have a little dude who is turning two and is as obsessed with bananas as mine is… a Go Bananas themed birthday party is a must! When Colton first saw his birthday invitations I made him (below) and his shirt to match (this was a quick design I whipped up and ironed on to a plain white tee), he just kept yelling, “BANANAS!!!” and was so excited, so I knew the party would be quite the hit with him.
We wanted the theme to start as soon as people arrived at our doorstep, so they saw the Asante Sana Squash Banana (try getting that song out of your head now…) and the arrow sign (which has literally been repainted and repurposed for about 5 or 6 parties we’ve done now). We also had fun signs around the house with things Colton says, does, and likes – so that we can be sure to remember all of the fun details and just so everyone could see some fun facts.
We wanted nothing less than chaos at this party, so we had a giant slip and slide down our big hill in our back yard, crazy glasses, beach balls, and giant blow up bananas thrown everywhere, which the kids were in love with.
I also made a fun little monkey and banana themed bowling set (the ball was a monkey’s face and the pins were bananas with googly eyes).
The black and white stripe table linen and black and white polka dot favor bags looked awesome with all of the bright yellow everywhere.
The banana split bar was a huge hit that kids and adults really loved.
All in all – it was another great party in the books!
