Logo and website Design – Blooming Bud – California Florist

logo for florist, modern florist logo design, brand identity for florist, graphic designer wedding industry

Introducing a new brand identity and custom web design for The Blooming Bud, Orange County wedding florist. We wanted to give owner Cynthia a look that expresses her love for flowers and organic design. Inspired by Cynthia’s passion, we designed a logo that incorporates classic florals with a mod clean sans serif type treatment. We brought The Blooming Bud’s new look to life online with a complete website design, in ivory, shades of rose and a rich, organic green. A new portfolio design lets The Blooming Bud’s future clientele browse the beautiful designs created in the studio, and of course contact Cynthia for more information. We love the new look for this talented floral designer, and we’re sure her clients will too!

We loved the experience working with Cynthia, and wanted to let you get to know her and her business a bit more too!

How long have you been in business? I have been working with flowers for over 11 years but this is my 3rd year in business for myself with The Blooming Bud.
What do you do? I’m a floral designer and I specialize in weddings and events. I talk with my client’s about
Why did you start your business? I started my business after I realized my career choice was not making me happy. I knew it had a lot to do with being stuck in an office and I wasn’t exactly sure what to do. I started to think about what does make me happy and whether or not I should find another job or go back to school. After talking with a few of my family members, I quickly realized that working with flowers has always made me the happiest and I have always had a great passion for it. I already had a bride I booked at that time because I would do small weddings from time to time for friends and family, so starting my business seemed like the most logical thing to do because I had already done weddings on my own. 🙂
What is unique about your business?I think it’s my style of floral design along with my design ideas, passion for what I do, and the experience that I have. I’m also really easy to work with and very flexible. After a long 3-4 days of working on a single wedding, I love being able to see how beautiful and how different all my weddings end up. The wedding completely comes to life and it’s such a magical moment seeing the bride that I’ve been talking to for a few months about one of the most important and memorable days in their life. I love that I get to share that with them. It’s really cool.
What is the process like to work with you? After a soon to be bride finds my work online somewhere they I like to think it’s easy to work with me. I usually like to see Pinterest boards or saved images my brides have to get an idea of what they like. Once I get images and an idea of their budget for flowers I come up with some great designs for them and send a proposal detailing some of the design ideas and flower selections I want to use. If we are on the same page thus far, we’ll set up a consultation where we can go more in detail about some of the ideas I had as well as other details of the wedding. Once a date is booked I am working behind the scenes for a while preparing flower orders, ordering containers and vases, etc. but I am always available to my clients for any questions or concerns they may have. I’m very flexible so brides tend to feel at ease when they work with me.
Why did you decide to work with Doodle Dog? I came across some of their work online and loved the style of the logo designs. In my opinion, everything was fun but not juvenile. There was a classic whimsy to the look of the logos. And I felt that best represented me and who I am.
What’s your favorite part of your new look? The way the beautiful flowers look in my logo. It looks like something I would do with flowers as an accent piece.
What advice would you give to someone considering a rebrand or relaunch? I would say don’t diy your branding. It sounds like it’s a lot to take on at first and it is, but the outcome is just so worth it and it comes out better than anything we could ever do for our selves and our brand.
About You:
Tell us about your family. My family consists of my awesome/ handsome husband and my spoiled rotten 11 year old pit bull who is my fur-baby. We spend a lot of our free time watching movies, eating, and gardening. We love the outdoors so we like to go on hikes, we like to camp, we go shooting and we also do archery.
What’s on your Playlist? I have everything. I have Queen, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Iggy Azalea, Chasing Dragons, Mumford and Sons, Arcade Fire, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven… It really depends on my mood 🙂
Where do you like to shop? I shop at Target, Nordstom, small boutiques, my yoga studio
Describe yourself and your style. I’m pretty simple. I love to practice yoga, I love watching birds, gardening (i’m just getting into this). When it comes to fashion I’m usually in jeans, cute flats, and a nice blouse with a pretty necklace piece on.
Where do you find inspiration? I find most of my inspiration in nature. I love sitting in gardens or out in parks and looking at how the flowers grow and how they look with each other. I pay attention to what direction they like to face and how each flower and plant relies on every other flower and plant to live and grow. Other forms of inspiration would be interior design, fabrics, travel. These help me find inspiration for the overall look of the weddings.
