Is your logo working for you?
Since my post about inspiring logos yesterday, I’ve had a few questions from visitors asking about the quality of their own logo and if it is really “working” for them or not. So here are a few questions to ask yourself if you are wondering the same thing:
Is it one of a kind? Don’t follow the pack. You want someone to remember your website, your brand, your logo, and your business card because they are shopping around and looking at your competitors. So don’t be afraid to stand out.
These two didn’t make the one of a kind cut:
Is it versatile? Does it work in all black? Does it work in all white? Does is work in color?
Is it appropriate? Looking for a fun-loving crowd, make it fun. Trying to attract lawyers, keep it professional and serious. Ask yourself how you want your target to feel when they look at your logo.
Does it stand the test of time? Leave the trends to the fashion industry, when it comes to your brand identity, longevity is key. Logos can always but updated but shouldn’t lose what you stand for.
Does it follow the KISS logic? It should be simple enough that it should still be recognizable when placed into 1X1 inch space. After all a typical business card is only 3.5X2 inches.
Does it give them ONE thing to remember? You shouldn’t try to pack every detail, service and selling point into your logo, it should be a design that is easy to recall and associate with your business.
LASTLY: (and maybe most importantly) Are you proud of it?
So…how does your logo rank? Is it working for you? If the answer is yes, congrats!
