Black, White, and Green Inspiration
Black and White never goes out of style. It provides a classy formal look that can add a trendy appeal with a splash of any accent color. The dress in this picture (originally posted on stylemepretty.com) is a beautiful bright white dress with sharp contrasting black sash. If you have found the perfect dress but it doesn’t include the sash you can go into places like David’s Bridal and purchase sashes in nearly ever color for under $20, or most designers will let you add a sash to your order (depending on the style of the dress). This dress would be perfect for any formal affair. For the men, a traditional black tux with a black tie and white shirt and a classic white rose boutonniere that again brings in that splash of green.
The reception layout is one of my favorite touches to this event, the long rectangle tables let you add a lot more drama to the table by repeating each table setting over and and over all the way down the table. A simple centerpiece repeated (or even alternating or just coordinating – it doesn’t have to be the same) down the table will be plenty since there will be so much going on on the table.
The invitation that we created was a modern dramatic lace pattern that your guests are sure to remember. It was printed on a rich natural pearl linen paper and mounted on a soft touche (feels like a soft material), each 5X7 invitation was paired with 2 small inserts for the RSVP and Directions card. A metallic black envelope was used.
The beautiful cake was designed by Heidi with Sugar Bee Sweets. Photo by Amy Barry Photography.
