  • Why did you start your business?
I began my business when I was working in the hospitality industry designing hotels and restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area. The market was starting to see a turn for the worse and so was my direct industry work. While a lot of our projects and work were essentially put on hold due to the economy, I eventually found my path event planning. I feel like this was my true calling. I love the idea that I still get to design a space that people walk into while it happens to be for something even greater, the biggest and happiest day of their lives. This designed setting is the one space that they will forever remember. Nothing can beat that feeling that it gives me to make my clients wowed.
  • What is unique about your business?

Since we have a design background, this helps us see the big picture and endless design opportunities at venues. With offices in two states, we also are very well versed in Texas, California, and destination weddings rather than just local, so that can also bring a different eye and unique perspective on things. Lastly, we try to only take on a max of 10-12 events per year, so that all our clients get the utmost attention and help that they deserve and need.
  • What’s on your Playlist?
Really anything except rock…but you can usually find me on pandora or spotify listening to any of these radio stations—Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Adele, John Mayer, Flo Rida, Sam Hunt, Florida Georgia Line, etc.
  • Where do you find inspiration?
As I did with designing hotels and restaurants, I can find inspiration from color, fashion, travel, artwork, pattern, or even something so unique that just catches my eye that makes me intrigued to turn it into a backdrop using floral or for another design element for a wedding or event.
  • Why did you decide to work with Doodle Dog?
I felt like we clicked right off the bat. It just felt natural. Their work speaks for itself and so does their reputation, which is what drove me to reach out to them in the first place.
  • Why did you feel the time was right to kick-off this project?
I have been wanting to redesign my site for a while to fit my personality and work better, and after seven years since my last web design, I felt like it was time. Good to start fresh for the New Year!
  • What’s your favorite part of your new site?
The Gallery and About pages since they help you get to know me as a person better, as well as see some of our work that reflects our diversity of style and design.
  • What advice would you give to someone considering a rebrand or relaunch?
Do your homework beforehand, select some other sites that stand out to you and write down what it is that you love about them. Never copy, just use an inspiration to help you create something similar in your own way. Also, have all the content, images, pages, etc all ready to go to give to your designer. They cannot do their job if you do not do your job. Lastly, be open to your plan and timeline! Always leave that flexibility in timing of the site to go live…reality is that things come up, changes need to be made, and you may see the design and realize you forgot things the first go around that you would like to add.
